Tremendous – Dona Ghenof

(poem by me. I was challenged to write a poem with this title)

tremendous love I have for whom I call „you”

from the way you shave like a human

to the way you proove

that you’re no one, ever, no „you”

*

I wouldn’t have understood your ways

have I not been there in my days

I wouldn’t love someone so true

Have I not come from the same stars as you

*

tremendous respect and appreciation

for the way you contain my mindless chatter

for the way you protect me from pain

and the ways you support my dreams, always

*

you don’t lie, and I would’ve known either way

you don’t pretend I always act okay

you nudge to the path that is correct

you show where I need to heal and detect

some things I still need to embrace or reject.

*

it’s tremendous how you appeared in my life

I recognized you from the start

you were pretty unplugged

I plugged you back in and I knew

you’ll be okay without us two

*

but you freaking weren’t, okay?

you kept visiting my archway.

you watched as I journaled in tune

and you showed yourself flying towards the moon,

*

tremendous suffering we have healed

for us and all those coming beneath

tremendous love we have felt

tremendous blessings we were dealt.

*

I will never forget these times in my life

I want you whole and I want you aligned

Be here for me please, all my life

Be my friend, my lover and my light.
